Careus is born! 😀
Caerus, was the Greek god of opportunity, luck, and favorable moments. He was depicted as a young, winged, and fleeting youth, with a lock of hair on his forehead that could be seized, but a bald head in the back, symbolizing that once an opportunity passes, it cannot be regained.
That’s the reason I named my homelab “Careus”. ☸️

The homelab is built with kubeadm following best practices.
There is one control-plane node and three worker nodes, running on Ubuntu 24.04
(yes, Ubuntu! Ease of install while I rule out issues or wtf moments, while I get friendly with kubeadm. So don’t come at me peeps lol 😜)
Specs:
- Thin clients
- Dell: Optiplex Micro
- 7040: control-plane, 32GB RAM
- 7040: worker-node-1, 16GB RAM
- 7040: worker-node-2, 16GB RAM
- 7050: worker-node-3, 16GB RAM
All upgraded with 256GB Nvme SSD.
The gigabit ethernet switch is unmanaged and been in a box for 10+ years but super reliable and fired right up. Pretty happy with results!
